The company magazine contents page

The contents page includes an image of a women standing and posing on one side. The image has been constructed in a good way by placing the image next to the contents list. They support the initial findings about the style of the magazine and its intended audience.
The fonts that are used in the magazine are attractive bold and in a bright eye catching colour which is pink, which supports and suits the style of the front cover it creates a good.
The information is set in a very organised way so that it is accessible to the audience  it’s easy and quick when searching for a certain particular thing rather than having to flick and look through every sing page which is just wasting time. There are different sections which is necessary to a contents page. This tells us that the magazine will be interesting to read as it is filled with all sorts of different stuff relating similar things. A contents page is compulsory and needed in a magazine.
The different sections have their page number next to them, which will help the customers to find the pages that they are interested in easily. They also include a little phrase to support the picture. The content page tells people and allows them to know how much information there is in the magazine. There are loads of promotional features which inspire fashion, beauty, health and much more. The magazine logo is placed on the page and it’s very dominant. There are other franchises on the contents page and one of them is promoting the website which is on the bottom right hand corner of the page.

Assignment bank 3

The magazine I am analysing is called ‘Company’ it is about celebrities and fashion which inspired me to create my own magazine on fashion with all the latest trends and styles. You can tell that the magazine is on fashion and celebrities as it says ‘CELEB FASHION TAKOVER! In big bold pink, capital letters. It is very eye catching which grabs your attention.
The target audience for this magazine are teenagers and young adults up to their thirties.
The mode of address is direct because she’s looking straight at the reader to get them more interested and into the magazine.
The type of relationship she’s trying to create is friendly and welcoming. The person that is on the front cover is Tulisa from N-dubs because she is a celebrity and famous. Also she is within the age group of their target audience. A lot of people use her as their own model and their inspiration for many reasons.
There are lots of quotes on the magazine front cover e.g. ”I’m going to shake up the X Factor” by this quote she is trying to get across the fact that she’s going to make the X Factor better and bigger as she is in it now as one of the judges. There are graphics and special fonts included on it. The price is put in a bright yellow circle to attract the eye and act as a persuasive technique.
There are buzz words in bright hot pink colour, which captured in my eyes and couldn’t resist the temptation from picking it up and having a quick flick through it before looking into it in more detailed.
The design of the title block tells me that the magazine will be trendy, modern, new and stylish. The title is slanted at the bottom which creates a unique dramatic effect on the magazine as a whole. Even before opening to the first page you can automatically realise that the magazine will be interesting and entertaining to read.
The puffs suggest that there will be loads of information on different things like designer bargains, new styles and fashion, Tulisa giving her opinions and giving information about x-factor etc. it doesn’t just have puffs about one particular thing it has all sorts of quotes around the front cover about many interesting things like x-factor which people are crazy for especially after the new judges were introduced it has stuff on makeup and fashion as all females adore and cherish which means it attracts many readers.
There are bright colours used which make it stand out and look nice and pretty. The fonts used are colourful bright bold and slanted. The way the text is goes with the way Tulisa is posing in a slanted way.
There are lots of strategies the magazine uses to connect with the audience. They used quotes and put it all around the magazine, they’ve highlighted around the cost of the magazine in bright yellow. They have put a couple of lists talking about the latest trends on the high street. The clothes that Tulisa is wearing are in the list of the latest trends (Dalmatian print, colour block etc). Overall the magazine front cover is really good and it would seek people’s attention as it did with me and it suits and it would be preferable to most people.

analysing two different adverts

First picture
Facial expression: Her facial expressions are not direct she looks happy, excited and proud. The bright colours and the lovely blue background shows love, passion, joy, and happiness.
Character type: I think she’s been chosen because she is young and inspiring. She looks girly because she is wearing pink and she is holding big bright colourful balloons. The product she is advertising for is Dior perfume.
Gesture or posture: The model is standing in a girly and posh way the way her head is and the way her legs are really straight together. She is posing with the perfume in her hand it looks like she is holding the big heavy perfume tightly with all her heart.
Costume: She is dressed brightly in pink. It shows that her personality is girly nice and sweet.
Setting: It is set outside. It is bright and the weather looks lovely. It makes you feel happy and relaxed. Also it inspires you to look at the perfume in more details.
Colour & lighting: The lighting is in the middle not too high and not too low. The colours create a joyful and relaxed feeling. There are nice light dreamy colours like baby blue, yellow, light pink, lilac and etc.
The product: The Dior perfume is big in the image. The shape of the perfume bottle is a cube like most perfumes.
Target audience: I think the target audience is teenagers because the model is young. Also because of the way and colours she is dressed in and the way she is posing. The hierarchy for this advert is esteem because it has self-esteem, confidence that gets boosted up by the perfume; you achieve things out of it for example like compliments and things like that.
Second picture
Facial expression: Their facial expressions are direct. They both look happy and proud.
Character type: I think they have been chosen because they are famous, young and inspiring. They are both wearing nice dresses their hair is done nicely.
Gesture or posture: The models are both posing in a very ordinary way, Beyonce is standing and the other one is sitting down holding the glass of milk in her hand. They both have a bit of milk above their lips which shows that they have been drinking it. It looks like they both like milk a lot and they enjoy it.
Costume: They are both dressed in beautiful passionate colours which go with the background. It shows that their personality is really nice, sweet and polite.
Setting: It is set inside in a room. There are nice goldy luxurious colours. Which creates a relaxing and calm feeling and the white milk stands out.
Colour & lighting: The lighting is nice and cosy not too dull but also not bright either.
The product: The milk is being advertised the size of the milk in the glass is how it should be.
Target audience: Is for everyone babies, teenagers, young, old, female, male etc. It is inspiring you to drink more milk.
The first advert is for Dior perfume to get people to buy it. The second advert is for milk so it can get people to drink milk more often. The hierarchy for this advert is esteem because it has self-esteem, confidence it also can be Love/Belonging because it’s to do with friendship and family as her mums in the advert with her and physiological is also a part of as its to do with food and the advert is on milk.

Film Poster analysis

The information that the audience expect to find on a poster is the releasing date which is there names of characters/ actors/actresses the name of the film the credits interesting images and pictures so they are inspired to watch the film also there should be couple of brief sentences saying what the genre and the film is going to be based on and what it is about like a blurb.
The images are very eye catching it grabs your attention. The editing is really good and high quality. The colours go with the theme and the genre. The poster has the time of when it is being release which is June 2011. You can tell by looking at the poster that the genre of the film is action because of the way both of the characters facial expressions are they look tough and hard. There is fire and cars at the background. In most action films there are people on the posters looking tough and strong or there are cars, fire bombs and things. The title/name of the film stands out because the rest of the poster is black and the images/pictures  are red or blue and the writing is in silver.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in "Fast Five." In this installment, former cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favourites Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race.
The Fast and Furious series is one of the strangest franchises in existence. After a financially successful albeit shoddy launch, Universal lost one of its stars to a terrible sequel and nearly killed the franchise when it lost the other and moved to Japan. Then the confusingly titled Fast and Furious erupted in a big way, ensuring the franchise, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker several more sequels for the years to come.
The director is Justin Lin and the writer is called Chris Morgan. The running time is 130 minutes. The MPAA Rating for this film is pg-13 because it has violence and action, sexual content and language which may be inappropriate for under 13’s. People that are mainly teenagers and young adults in their middle twenties would want to watch the film especially teenagers though. The film has special effects, the actors are famous and well known as well which inspires people to go and watch the movie. The themes suit the genre and the movie as a whole.
The film doesn’t refer to any other films books music tracks television etc. The company that produced the film is universal.
Releasing Date: April 29, 2011
Genre: Justin Lin
Writer: Chris Morgan
Cast: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Chris
AKA: Fast and the Furious five
Studio: the Universal Pictures
Running time: one hundred and thirty minutes
